Not fair at all on her high school is hard enough as it is without not knowing anyone

This is a very sad situation. Here is a young girl who, as well as working hard on her studies, has taken the time to look after other children when they are lonely or sad. It’s shameful that she has been singled out. The reason doesn’t really matter. Surely it’s common sense not to leave one child out. No wonder there’s an increase in children with mental health issues.

Have a heart Alder High school-why split Mia from her friends? Other children in her area have been accepted so the distance appears to be a flimsy excuse. What is Mia's head teacher's opinion on this matter Hannah? Could they not help?

Heartbreaking. I just don’t understand why Mia is the only one not to have been offered her first choice. Having built such strong relationships with her peers from nursery at school, to have this taken away so quick! Knowing Mia and her family on a personal level, I know the impact that this has had and will continue to have on her wellbeing and that of her friends too. Her offer HAS to be reconsidered!!! We’re all behind you Mia xxxxxx

This little girl should be able to stay with her friends. She’s the only one on her road not to be offered the feeder school for Dowson and she is in the catchment area

Dearest Mia You are AMAZING, clever, kind and so talented!! I believe Alder is losing a very special hardworking student if they don't take you in. You will be successful wherever you go and we all hope Alder will realise this and take you in so you can be with friends and neighbours. If they do not take you, you will still succeed and be fabulous!!! Love you lots Fiona and Neil

Separating children from friends after many years of bonding is a disgrace. This happened to my daughter when she turned 7yrs, my daughter is now 22yrs and still feels the anxiety when we talk about it. Young life’s need to be deeply considered to prevent damaging their happiness. Schools need to put children first over all paperwork so they are not forgotten and left behind, it starts here! Do what’s right not what’s easy for the system.

Mia is a kind, bright and helpful soul and the school would be lucky to have her.

If other children on her road have been accepted then distance cant be the real issue here. Seems to be a most unfair state of affairs. Good luck Mia xx
