Mental health has a lot of stigma attached to it. If mental health is taught with in schools the stigma may decrease. People can learn that it isn't something to be ashamed of. People may then be able to come forward and ask for help. People might not be so ashamed of these illnesses. So many people see these issues as a joke, yet they are serious. People only see this as a joke because they are not aware of it.

If mental health classes or awareness assemblies were made compulsory within schools then it may help some people suffering to ask for help. It may stop the bullying of people with these disorders, and it may make people realise that it isn't a choice to have these illnesses. That they are not attention seeking, they need help.

Did you know that 10% of children have a mental health problem?

Or that 1 in 5 people will suffer from mental health problems?

1.6 million people in the UK are affected by eating disorders.
