Decisions such as these are too impactful to our community and the adjacent neighbors and must be considered more thoroughly. Please reconsider the potential for a north drop off. The safety and congestion are simply not true. Please continue to utilize the PTA, LSC and other parent/ community groups to explore ALL options and consider other alternatives for northbound access.

The Mary Lin Community would benefit from a traffic study which takes I to account Lake Vlaire, Csndler Park and Inman Park families prior to making changes.

The school administration seems to be prioritizing drivers over walkers when putting forth school wide changes. I would like to see the plans and designs leaning heavily toward walking. nPrioritizing a southbound car drop off is not a step in the right direction for our school, or community. g

Please please please think about this before implementing. Our school is not set up like SPARK, MES or others near us. We have very limited access to the school grounds. Maybe we could think about another route behind the school once construction is done?

Inman MS also has a crosswalk from a park across Virginia Ave. and we have parent volunteers who help with the crossing. Shutting this down would never be an option. And, yes, there are parents who choose to use that street for drop-off, though they are not many in number.

As a family that both crosses through the park on foot and uses the Northbound car dropoff we know that kids comiing from the park need a safe way to cross Candler Park Drive. At present, many pedestrians walk to the crosswalk dads from the park to safely cross, the other alternative is jaywalking which I believe is illegal. This new plan jeopardizes park walkers as well as drivers and should be studied before implementation.

The crosswalk does more than get children to the school safely. It is a central point of community. It gets parents involved. It is a community tradition.

This has been a successful part of the Lin morning routine for over decade. We have a unique sitation at Lin where the school faces a golf course and can accomodate a second drop off lane without cross street traffic. It was put in place in response to community needs a decade ago. The City agrees the crosswalk is legitimate. Eliminating the carpool lane renders the crosswalk nearly useless for it's original intent.

There has been no reason given by the administration that justifies the impact on traffic and the disruption in the schedules of hundreds of kids and parents.

I am happy to see that the crosswalk will remain a safe means for the children to get across Candler Park Dr, but I am worried that Oakdale will become a nightmare if/when all driving parents take that route to come south on CP to come through the Mary Lin loop.

Why the rush? Traffic study and community involvement for solutions should be considered before removing a system that is working.
