As a musician, there are certain defining moments in my life and hearing Mountain for the first time at a friends house in the mid 70's was one of them. Leslie West, clearly one of the greatest of all time.

These guys were brilliant and pedigree. Why they aren't already there is a crime.

Mountain was a quintessential leader of the creative revolution of the late 1960s and early 1970s. They were on stage at Woodstock and their creative studio work was unique in a market flooded with copycat artists. Felix Pappalardi who produced Cream and played bass for Mountain delivered incredible vocal performances on classics like “Theme From An Imaginary Western.” The incomparable Leslie West brought lead guitar work that measured up to the major competitors of the day including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Pete Townsend. And his powerful vocals gave Mountain another voice for the powerful music they produced.

I have been a great Swedish fan of Leslie West and Mountain ever since they released "Climbing" 1970. I met Leslie and Corky when in Sweden -92 and they digned my Twin Peaks album. There is no other guitarist playng rock n' roll like Leslie West. He added a new dimension to guitar playing and Mountain as a band was a stunning experience on stage.

I became a life-long fan of Mountain very early on. They so deserve to be in the R&RHoF... Each of the band members has been a huge influence on countless musicians for decades. The poster boys for REAL rock music!
