This band and it's members have a significant (and often unrecognized) role in the history of rock music. For example West's use of mostly the major pentatonic scale for solos (as opposed to minor) was unusual and was soon copied by many others. Of course his guitars timbre was unmatched. Corky Laing's use of the flam with alternate kick bass hits is only one example of his unique and hard driving sound. Lastly Pappalardi's contribution to huge rock speaks for itself and his bass playing reflected his impressive knowledge of music. He also often used the major vs minor pentatonic scale. A true musical genius. Lastly their music was infectious, fun, and powerful. They deserve recognition.

One of the best bands ever. I still listen to them almost every day for close to 50 years now. They so deserve to be in the hall of fame . That being said please consider this petition as a definate YES!!

I saw Mountain 5 times, have all their records. The best band ever,that includes Jimi and dozens of bands I've seen...
