I have been following / Leslie West / Mountain since 1970, what a great band to see in a live setting, I seen them at the Eastown Theatre in Detroit, it was a smaller venue but I could front stage in front of Leslie, the volume the exquisite tone and showmanship still is etched in my memory. I would get a spectacular guitar lesson every time I seen them. Leslie West is why I started playing guitar, the tone and impeccable phrasing, the way he mastered intertwining the minor and major pentatonic scales and that heavenly vibrato, he set the bar extremely high with his unique style. He showed it’s not only the notes you play, but the space between notes is just as important. When I think of my youth, it puts me at those Mountain shows living life to the fullest and enjoying superb music with my high school friends. Thanks Leslie West and Mountain

Mountain was one of the very finest, and most influential bands of the late 60's-70's. They changed my life, and absolutely deserve to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Mountain's energy boosted the planet's consciousness. Great bands just "are!" Let us rally around the cosmic energy that brought these four great musicians together and infuse the Hall of Fame with this energy, if the Hall of Fame be so deserving! Leslie West's guitar solos on Climbing are so sonically and melodically pure that they stand on their own. Lang's thunder, Pappalardi as heavy bassist/singer and producer -extraordinaire and Knight's liturgically soulful Hammond were guided forces to enhance this energy. If the Hall of Fame cannot see this then those making the decisions are not fully awake and there's something ill within that body at the Hall.

Mountain embodies everything about the 1970s that made FM radio what it eventually became in the late 80s. Before Clear Channel made Top 50 the dominant format. Mountain was, truly, leading heavy metal, blues rock, and rock n roll into the most vibrant category in popular music.

R&R Hall of Fame cannot be a real R&R Hall without the induction of great artists like Leslie who not only influenced music but many guitar heroes that came after him! Let's go Hall...Leslie is one of the greats.
