Saw Leslie several times and he is a true pioneer. Mountain is criminally underrated and Leslie is truly the King Of Tone. Just listen to Mountain at the closing of the Fillmore East and you will know the truth.

From the”Vagrants “ to Mountain, Leslie Weinstein and Mountain were a great mix of Classical backgrounds and bending notes!

Mountain deserves to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They released some of the coolest songs and had amazing live performances.

Saw many of the great bands live in early ‘70s. How can this band not be in the hall of fame? Their instruments did the talking. West’s dream sequence is still on of my top five best performances I ever saw in person (including Cream (with Clapton), Santana, The Who, Johnny/Edgar Winter, Black Sabbath, Seger, Kansas, Aerosmith, etc.). And yes, West’s guitar should be at the entrance of the Hall of Fame. You can say there are guitarists as good, but without seeing him in a live performance you will never understand why he is known by many as “the man with the magic fingers”. Smooth as silk.
To the committee.. at a minimum the band should be inducted as a pioneer of the Blues Rock genre. Please give West, Pappalardi (a star in his own right), Knight and Laing the credit they are due.

Leslie West was a master of tone and a criminally underrated guitarist. Mountain definitely deserves induction!
