A new bus route has been adopted by Stock Transport and the School Board that employs Stock Transport, that has the bus picking up children in the morning literally after the bell has gone off at their school. We learned of the change last week in an email sent out after the first day of the new schedule. It is unacceptable and discrim inatory that our children do not arrive in plenty of time to take part in the Breakfast program, take their outdoor clothes off and get their shoes on, say hi to their friends. Last year the bus departed Woodbine around 8:25 or 8:30 a.m.. This school year started off later and now, it is 9:00 a.m. Moreover, the decision to change the schedule was made with absolutely no consideration for families’ schedules and therefore the routine and safety of our children.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to ensure ALL children are picked up by the school bus and delivered to the school in plenty of time to partake in any and all activities the school offers including the Breakfast Program. This would mean the bus leave Woodbine for the school at 8:30 a.m. the latest.
