I have been trying to explain to my mom that a goldfish is more than just a pet because it would be a real friend to talk to. She still says it is too much work but I am keeping my room extra clean just in case she changes her mind.

Seeing so many people back this idea makes me feel like Mom might actually listen for once. The momentum behind getting a fish for our house is incredible and I am feeling hopeful.
