I'm not sure how long Johnny has been helping out with WDHS athletics, but as far back as I can remember he has been a fixture on the sidelines of every varsity football, basketball, of baseball game I've ever attended or played in. Johnny is probably the one constant in all of those programs at WDHS. He's the most dedicated fan of WDHS athletics of anyone I've ever met and one of the nicest and most selfless people you could ever meet. Johnny has probably done more for and given more to WDHS athletics than anybody in the athletic hall of fame, and based on that alone deserves a spot in it.

Newman loves everything about WDHS and it's athletic programs. The countless amount of hours he has put in and has the biggest smile on his face while doing it! He is a legend in the Dells

Newman is the most deserving person I know for an award as honorable as being in the WDHS Hall of Fame. Newms makes athletics so much more lively and is always supportive and takes on the role of being manager to a new level; making sandwiches for the whole team for after away games accompanied with cookies, filling up our waters and giving them to us during timeouts, letting us know how much time is left during halftime, giving us a pat on the back and encouraging words when we need it, and so much more. I'm so thankful for someone as amazing as Newman managing for us and the appreciation everyone has for him should without a doubt be recognized with this title. :)
