We believe certain members of the Town of North East Planning Board have been dragging their feet on the application for a Hannaford grocery store which is overwhelming wanted by residents. The applicant has willingly met all expectations and performed in good faith. Plans for an alternative site discussed by some in the community appear to have fallen through. The window for construction this year will soon close. If that happens all the time and money spent on this application will be lost and there won't be a new store any time in the near future. Since foot dragging now seems to be escalating to outright obstruction on the part of these board members we ask the Town Board of the Town of North East to appoint a new chairman to the Planning Board and to relieve Bill Kish of his position on the board due to inadequate/inappropriate performance on the part of Mr. Culver and Mr. Kish.
