I agree! If football and other sports have no changes, then either should soccer.

These rules make no sense when compared to the lack of restrictions for football.

My son has been playing club soccer since the fall with normal soccer rules. No issues have occurred whatsoever due to Covid. There is no need to change things for high school!

Why is soccer being singled out and having its rules of play changed? Footbal, wrestling, basketball have close contact & their rules have not been changed. Most soccer players have been playing for their clubs without masks with the same rules all throughout the shut down with no cases of covid coming from playing the sport.

Travel soccer has been playing since August 2020 with no changes to soccer rules. Changing the rules is unnecessary and ridiculous. Spring athletics were the only sports season taken away last year. Don’t ruin their season this year by imposing arbitrary rules that have no basis in science. These kids have already lost so much. Stop trying to find ways to make their lives more difficult by imposing your controlling measures designed to make governing bodies satisfied that they are doing something. You are only hurting these athletes and showing how little you understand soccer and how the virus is spread.

Surely soccer is less likely to spread a virus than wrestling. There's really no difference in soccer and football. Give the kids their season.

Other leagues are competing with these things in place. It’s not posing a danger. Is a defender not allowed to do their job either because they’ll be within 6 feet? I mean... this is just unnecessary. Put proper protocols in place and health screenings - of course be protective and safe. But not silly and unnecessary.

I understand that covid is a serious thing , but it’s been more then a year and these kids and parents can’t live in fear any more. They should be able to play the game they love soccer and other sports .

Why can football linemen be face to face w opposing teams but soccer players can’t stand side by side w their own teammates? Please stop the arbitrary rules.

There is no reason not to pkk look at a normal game. I believe in COVID-19 precautions but if you are playing, play the full game.
