Kala the arts has been a positive impact in the society. Their specialization in Odyssey dance is invaluable gift to Basingstoke. It helps the children to learn about the art of classical dancing and knowledge of other south Asian dances and singing. It would be useful for society if Kala is around in Basingstoke.

Kala The Arts has been provoding marvellous performance and teaching in music and dance. We are proud to have this organisation in Hampshire. It is important have this cultural organisation for the new young generation.

One of its kind in the UK . My family learns with this organisation as there is nothing like this available anywhere .The organisation has helped my daughter grow in confidence and she is very happy learning . She feels happy sharing her skills with others She will be very sad if her classes are no longer available. Please do make the funding available for Kala the Arts, so that the communities can continue to benefit from the organisation.Kala The Arts is an excellent Arts organisation specialised in Odissi .The organisation brings us closer to our culture.I feel proud when my daughter goes and performs in front of our family back in India.

We have worked with Kala the Arts for a great number of years and have performed at many community and arts events with junior school children in Basingstoke. Good luck Sushmita with your efforts to keep Kala going.

Kala The Arts is a committed, creative company dedicated to promoting South Asian Arts in Basingstoke and the South East. The company has contributed greatly to the arts and entertainment culture in the area and is a very worthy recipient of local grants

I am associated with Kala Arts for the last couple of years and I must say they are doing a wonderful job in promoting diverse culture by teaching little kids about the arts and culture. Arts and culture not just need people support but also necessary funds to survive. I hope Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council makes a note of this and help it to grow.

The Councils needs to support organisations from diverse cultures not just the host community. It should reflect the diverse nature of its tax payers.

Kala the Arts was a regularly funded organization (RFO) of Arts Council England, South East (ACESE) ACESE do not give RFO status lightly - such status speaks of the quality and professionalism of the organisation. Its contribution to the Arts in Basingstoke and Deane is invaluable in promoting not only the Arts, but in particular South Asian Art, as well as in its contribution to education and cultural integration and work with youth. Its aims are fully compatible with the Borough's Cultural Strategy and the organisation is fully deserving of a grant from the Council.

Kala -The arts is the only organisation in this area that promotes South Asian arts. It provides excellent lessons in music and dance and provides a platform for many young talents to perform and be in touch with their cultural heritage. I will be heart broken if this organisation cannot carry on anymore due to financial constraint.
