Fundamentally, Detective Payne assaulted a healthcare worker for doing her job. The nurse was respectful, kind, and helpful as she tried to explain hospital policy - which she cannot choose to ignore. However, more to the point - why did none of the other officers standing nearby rein Detective Payne in? That's troubling - as police officers, you are supposed to protect those who are being assaulted.

It's time to hold him accountable! Make it know that a badge is not a crown! This officer should at be suspended if not fired. The abuse of power and ruining the relationship between Law Enforcement & Hospital workers who they work hand in hand with every day. Unacceptable!

This officer should be fired. He should not be in a place of power, he let his anger get in the way of his job and the job that was at hand. And he assaulted a healthcare worker.

This Detective and the Luitenant who told him to arrest illegally should both be fired WITHOUT PAY . They make adverage law obyding citizens angry and fearful. Detective Payne is a disgrace to the rest of Salt Lake citys police department. He should be NOT be ABOVE the LAW!! Another reason to dislike Utah and Salt Lake City and NEVER go back there and spend money. Apparently its legual for your officer to break the laws!
