Update: November 2, 2018

Hello all,

It seems like our vacation from harassment is over. Since the municipal election last week resulted in Councillor Thompson keeping his position, we have seen the parking authority two times a day. The only silver lining is that they come during the day now when most people are working, so my house has been able to move cars without getting up at ridiculous hours.

I have gotten the contact information for the supervisor for the parking authority in Scarborough. The supervisor's name is Stephen McGowan and you can call him at 416-808-6676. I hope that he will listen to us. He hasn't in the past, sadly, as he is a good friend of Councillor Thompson. Perhaps if more people contact him about the issues and file complaints, he will start to listen.

Thanks again to all supporting.

Update: August 2, 2018

Thank you to everyone who has supported this cause! It seems like our petition is now reaching out to more of Scarborough. This is an issue across our jurisdiction. It is time to bring this to the Councillors of Scarborough and the future new Mayor of Toronto.

More neighbourhoods in our little city within Toronto are being harassed by the parking authority. While this petition name will remain the same, the goal is changing: Get Permit Parking for ALL OF SCARBOROUGH.

Let's continue to work together to get this plan in action.

Thank you again to everyone!!

Dear fellow Courton Drive residents,

I'm sure you're all getting annoyed, just like I am, with the amount of tickets our quiet street has been receiving from the Toronto parking authority.

Currently, Scarborough is the only jurisdiction within the city that does not allow its residents to purchase parking permits, yet, there is a by-law which states we can still be ticketed for parking in excess of 3 hours.

After contacting the city, and our representatives, we have been advised that we can put together a petition to submit to our Councillor, Michael Thompson, to request that this program be implemented on our street.

Although I'm not sure exactly the cost of the permits, I'm sure it will be far less than the amount of tickets we have been receiving, as well as the stress it causes each of us at night when we fear the parking authority is coming our way.

Thanks so much for supporting your fellow neighbours!
