My boy loves astronomy and i feel like taking it away would be the worst thing to do, i feel that if you take it away stars will be left undiscovered and moons will never be found. Please vote for it to stay on the curriculum

I did the Astronomy GCSE a few years ago and it was definitely the most interesting, most fun and most dynamic course I did. Seeing as it's such a rare qualification, having an astronomy GCSE makes you stand out from others, and completing it two years early gives you that extra wow factor. I'm proud to say that having my astronomy GCSE has helped me with my college applications, as they had never heard of it before and so I stood out from the crowd; and aside from this the knowledge and understanding of the universe is so useful to apply to other subjects. It's an outrage that Oxted plan to remove this course when they are already quite far into the syllabus. And it is disappointing that they didn't even tell the children, just sent their parents a letter. My sister was devistated when she found out, astronomy was her favourite subject and something that really fascinated her.
