we need AA it helps so much with school and seeing are teachers for help. don’t be that dumb to get rid of AA. you finally did something right for once and now taking it away... that is so stupid.

With all due respect, administrators and teachers need to understand that staying after school to get help and make things up is not as convient as it should be. Many kids, including myself, need to go home right after school to help the family and younger siblings and grandparents. Staying after the bell is not always an easy feat. Academic advisement took that worry away.
In addition, motivation for afterschool is lost. Even for high honor roll students, after a long day of AP classes and such, finding the will to voluntarily stay after is not easy. Many times we default to just not doing so for the sake of just getting home and starting homework to prevent another late night. With academic advisement we don’t have to worry about that because it’s already built into the school day.
It seems to be believed that teachers and workers come before the students. I understand much of the teachers reasoning for their vote, however I think there are positives outweighing the negatives when you do indeed take into account the opinions of the students. I am a part of the student body and I see firsthand the benefits of AA and wish that you will all take them back into consideration.
One last point I would like to make is that I am entering my senior year and will be having early dismissal and perhaps AA won’t even influence me much this last year. However, junior year was not easy and AA certainly took some weight off. So I am signing this petition for the students who come after me, not just for benefit of myself.

AA was a big help that allowed me to go over assignments that I had trouble with earlier. Not every teacher can stay after certian days and AA is a great alternative to staying after. Plus some of us have jobs
