Students truly benefited from their AA time. It gave the students extra time to meet with teachers, finish tests, and catch up on work.

this year has been one of the hardest years of my life, and i know that many other students can probably relate. having aa everyday was a nice way to just decompress in the middle of mentally exhausting days. with severe depression and anxiety days can be hard to live through, especially when you are taking all ap and honors classes, SOMETHING THE SCHOOL AND COUNSELORS MAKE YOU FEEL IS NECESSARY TO DO TO GET INTO COLLEGE!!! i know at the junior high, without aa, i would often be so mentally exhausted by 3rd block that i more times than not ended up having to go to the bathroom to cry, aa cut this to a smaller amount. also in the junior high, when i didn't have aa, i remember often falling asleep during class, because there would never be a time for me to just chill during the 6.5 hour days. also for the teachers that probably think “oh just take a study hall if you need a break during the day” IF YOU ASK YOUR COUNSELOR FOR A STUDY HALL THEY WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR DECISION IS AFFECTING YOUR CHANCE OR GETTING INTO COLLEGE. if anyone from administration is reading this i want you to really think about what you’re doing. what you’re doing is hurting your students. you claim “together we can, together we will” but taking away aa is damaging what your students can do.

AA is very helpful for kids who don’t have study halls and who need time to work on homework because they play sports and don’t have that much free time

AA was a wonderful addition to the school day. My son used it for a variety of things - making up a missed quiz, meeting with a guidance counselor, study hall, extra time with a teacher for help when unable to stay after school, etc. Would be a shame to lose this.

I feel CNS needs to keep AA for their students. I know it helped my girls tremendously. Why would we take something away from the students that is so helpful?
