Im a local Swords man looking to get an AED/Defibrillator placed in an easily accessible and highly visible area on the main street. People need to be made aware of where you can get your hands on one of these as knowing this could make all the difference in saving someone's life. You really have such a small window of time from when someone goes into cardiac arrest to pefrom CPR and a defibrillator is a vital aide to do this until help comes.
If someone went into cardiac arrest beside you would you even know where the nearest defibrillator is. Could anybody even tell me where you could get access to one 24/7 on the main st??
I was in Wexford recently where they had them on every street corner, highly visible and easy to access in case of an emergency.
I find it worrying and completely unacceptable that an are with a population as large as Swords doesn't even have one out on the open that could be name.
Any help from local businesses or individuals would be greatly appreciated in my endeavour to make this happen.
Any ideas on how to make this happen would also be a massive help.
