As a farmer's daughter, I have always loved my truck. I often find myself hauling home landscape materials, feed, or a large buy I've came across. I loved the looks and utility of the El Camino's and their counter parts. Make it a 4 wheel drive so I can use it on the country roads in midwest winters, and I'm all in. I'm actually looking to buy in the next year or so. Right now my Ford sport trac is what fits the bill...but they quit making them also. Give me a short-bed and a V6/V8 with 4 wheel drive at a REASONABLE price, not some 55+K (Your're gonna make a mint, and I'm gonna be tied to the bank for 6 years deal). I even liked the old Subaru Baja's/and Rampage's(?). Love the fact this young man came up with the motivation, now lets listen to potential consumers.

I literally paid fifty thousand dollars to have lefthandutes.com import a VE Commodore Ute SS and convert it to left hand drive. Make it easier for El Camino fans and put a chevy badge up front!

I think this might be a good move to boost gas mileage for a truck like vehicle for use in the 21st century.

Yes also bring back the 2door tahoe before ford brings back the bronco. There are alot of people who would love the 2 door platform who do require lenght of the four door.

I absolutely agree on this! I was just thinking the exact same thing last week! Go figure. It should be based on the Impala platform but keep it a little more of the 1969 or 70's look like they tried to do with the Camaro, A strong turbo charged V-6 or the 5.3 liter V-8 should be made available & maybe later add the 6.4 liter turbo V-8 for an SS model. I think they could improve on the current gas mileage pretty easy. Maybe even look into the use of high grade aluminum as Ford did in this years trucks, keeping the weight down. Interior needs to be plushed up even on the entry level & please, no hard plastics?!!!! Soft touch dash, door panels, etc. & noise cancellation should make this a great ride. All wheel drive should be made available for towing boats out of the launch ramps & tow hitch should be an automatic standard from the baseline & up Air ride load leveling should be made available as an option also. ALL the bells & whistles should be available. This could be a great rolling office for contractors, real estate agents & the like. GO EL CAMINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a 1965 El Camino with a 350/350 hp. with a built 2 speed glide. I was hit almost head on, was lucky to walk away to tell about it, but not so lucky for the prize 1965. Now I am disabled and will probably never be fortunate to aford one again, this car is one of my fathers and I alike, no mater what year. If a new one was to be built it must be under the chevrolet or GMC name plate, not pontiac or buick etc. El Caminos and Sprints forever.
