As an alum of Scripps, I am proud of the efforts of students to promote gender inclusivity that I saw on campus. Challenging gender was a huge part of the growth that I experienced while at Scripps; at a historically women’s college, my achievements were not framed by gender narratives, they just were. I also learned so much from my trans and non-binary classmates and community members. Changing this logo would help reduce the erasure that these students and community members experience daily and signify that Scripps as an institution values gender inclusivity as much as its students.
