PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT GO CANADA TO REINTRODUCE AND PASS BILL C-279 WITHOUT AMENDEMENTS

WHEREAS, Bill C-279 no be reintroduced to the federal government of Canada;

WHEREAS, Bill C-279 Gender Identity Bill will ensure protection of the human rights of Trans people: and extend to them the same right granted to all Canadians;

WHEREAS, the passage Bill C-279 will amend the Canadian Human Rights Act to make discrimination based on gender identity illegal;

WHEREAS, the passage of Bill C-279 will make illegal hate speech and/or speech that incites violence against Trans people;

AND WHEREAS, the passage of Bill C-279 will provide amendments to the Criminal Code of Canada that will allow for stricter sentences for hate crimes and discrimination targeting Trans people.

We, the undersigned residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to reintroduce and pass Bill C-279 without amendments.
