Dear Gems Management,
As a parent of a GEMS DAA student, We would appreciate a public response from the owner and not the school front line management on the fee structure.
In addition is it possible for the KHDA to investigate whether the school has confirmed that GEMS do not have a business interruption insurance policy wherein some of the schools fixed costs can be reimbursed through such an insurance policy.
As parents we are all looking forward to change in the GEMS mindset in this difficult period,

The learning is remote with no control or monitoring from school. As parents we have to spend more time and effort along with the office work. Children's are going through tough time as learning material is not structured. Fee for the new term should be reduced by40%

Hello Grms! You are paying less for utilities and maintenance etc. but now you are asking us to pay the same. If you take care of kids and try to understand their situation, you must reduce the 3rd term fees. If you think about only Money, you will do the same.

They are pushing for online classes of even Pre KG kids where teachers do a 30min session and rest is upto parents.
Why charge full when education time and efforts for teachers has reduced?

Being a parent of 3 children going to same school, and with the current crisis going around, it's really difficult to survive. Recently, my employer issued a memo for a straight 50percent paycut, from April, we need support to manage our livelihood in such situations. Many more would have been affected and may be are not willing to mention for safe identity reasons. Hence we request the GEMS management to look into case by case and provide support by reduction in school fees. As well, the support mothers are required to provide in such situations is beyond imagination. Apart from daily chores there is an additional task to be with the children during the eLearning time. This is still a burden on overall days schedule. The time which mother's get to manage the household works while children were at school, such time is totally lost in being with the children during the elearning time, or in recorded sessions for non online time (junior sections). Hence it's really tough on that part as well.
A reduction in fees to a minimum of 20percent for grades 4 and above and 35percent for kg2 to grade 3 is really the need of the hour.
For child in KG1, how it is expected to have online classes with them or to go through recorded sessions. Hence the children in Kg1 should be directly promoted to KG2 and no fees to be collected for Kg1.
This is being adopted elsewhere. I hope most of the parents agree with this.
