Full fees in distance learning is not justified as there are variable cost for the school which are not being incurred. The savings to those shall be passed on to the families and also margin cut.
Moreover teachers and the school are not able to deliver the effective education level for which we signed up and for which the fees was setup due to the remote learning, parents are required to extra support the school in delivering the education. Parents are required to teach the children and support the school is teaching, fees reduction should be passed on to the families In this regard.
The above applies for year 1 and above but for FS1 and FS2 it is not working Our specially for FS1. Children at this stage need classroom atmosphere, professional certified trained teacher and other children in class. The education can not be delivered to them at home by non trained trainers and make them use the distance learning portal. They are too young for this home learning and is not working at all. FS1 fees should be 100 percent waived or halted.
There are 2 solution; either to give a considerable discount in school fees or below;
For all grades the long summer vacations (July and Aug) should be preponed and all term 3 should be after vacations for this year. In this way we can fight the pandemics and school does not need to give discount and wait for the betterment.

During this unpleasant situation, where so many people lost jobs/are on unpaid leave/their businesses are shut down, charging full fees is really inhuman. As per GEMS, they need to pay teachers salary.But without any income, how parents can support this.Till now all parents were paying.We just need a 50% discount in fees. As per my understanding, even with that teachers can be paid. GEMS should please consider from parents side too.Situations like these can be overcomed only with mutual support. lets overcome this.
