I spend not less than 7 to 9 hours supporting my kids in addition to the materials I use to do the projects and assignments

Reduce term 3 fees, do more effort with kids on distance learning, don't keep all load on parents

My son's r fs1 n grade 1.. All the work is done my parents explain in deep.. Making all efforts to make them sit. Print out work sheet by our own..

It’s time to reduce the fees as all sectors affected and fees reduction needs to considered seriously!

Challenging for a parent as have to conduct lessons especially for working parents

School fees should be reduced as we are not getting what we pay for now

Will be very helpful if some discount is given say 15-20% . By God's grace my husband job is still there but salary is delayed for over a month now.

GEMS FPS MUST REDUCE THE FEES FOR TERM 3 DUE TO COVID19 AND THE WORLDWIDE SITUATION. WE LOST ALL OUR BUSINESS REVENUE AND IT SEEMS THAT WE WILL NOT HAVE ANY REVENUE FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS AS WELL.

In reference to your letter sent to all parents on 1st April (with a misleading title) “GEMS Covid-19 Relief Package”. We as a collective number of parents (copied on this email) are writing to you to raise our concern. I know there are more parents that feel the same way and will be happy to provide you with a list upon request. First of all, we would like to applaud you and the school for being able to provide continuous education to all our children (your children) and being able to turn it around in a short space of time. As expected, there have been teething issues at the beginning but the way it was dealt with was professional and commendable. GEMS is a well-established institution not only in the UAE but globally, we are proud that our children attend the school. To be honest we were all expecting GEMS to be leading the way with adjustment of 3rd term fees in light of the current circumstances but instead GEMS is falling way behind in its actions and even receiving bad press. Most schools in the UAE have already agreed to reduced school fees as much as 50% for all pupils regardless of financial circumstances, this is also happening back in the UK (the curriculum the school follows) in regard to the 3rd term fee. They have done this not only because we are now in unchartered territory with a global pandemic situation and with many families affected, they have done this because they understand that the level of service parents signed up for when they enrolled their children has changed (not of the fault of either party). As mentioned before, we applaud the efforts Gems First point School has taken to continue to educate our children but you will have to agree with us parents that distant learning for young children is not the same as being in school from 7:45 – 15:05 (13:05 on Thursday). I do agree and seek for the reduction in 3rd term school fees, for the given reasons in this letter.
