The current situation is alike to home schooling as a lot of effort is going in from the parents' end. Further, since the operational expenses related to the school are limited (except for staff salaries), it is only fair to expect an institution like GEMS to be pass a part of this saving to the parents.

We as parents are sharing the job as teachers and also using our in house resources instead of school premises. Hence it is only fair that we get a reduction in fees- atleast a 20% as other schools .... this is also a tool to ensure sustainability and a long term relationship with the Gems group of schools

My daughter - Maria Hassanin is studying in Y1 and I wish if your school management do some reduction on 3rd fee term special that there is no more school and the school will save alot in monthly utility bill and other services charges bills. I am as a working Mom our employee requesting us to take unpayable leave which will cause for us alot of presure on life expenses

I prefer to close the academic year for all FS, being a working mom I’m not able to let my kids attend any of the remote meetings as I mostly have a business meeting at the same time. The kids definitely need adults’ help and I cannot.

Sub: Fee Reduction on Third Semester’s E-Learning
Dear Sir / Madam
In light of the existing situation, we, parents of Gems Education Schools, appreciate the Institutions’ continuous support and back the decision of the school’s closure for the safety of its students. However, we feel that it is unjustified that Gems is demanding a full fee payment for the Third Term’s 'Distance Learning Program'.
It is important to address that the online learning platform is not a complete alternate, but rather a supplement to the Term Education. Parents have to put in more than 5-7 hours a day, assisting children to complete the daily assigned lessons, provide resources, stationary, technology, not to mention the added mental strain and pressure of working from home simultaneously.
Moreover, Keeping the current situation in mind, the government has clearly created policies in place which gives the employers a choice to reduce the salaries appropriately. While we appreciate the school’s decision to pay its staff in full, but we also firmly believe that this is purely an employer’s decision and responsibility and that the financial implications of this decision must not be passed on to the parents.
In addition to this, the children are not attending school for the entire semester, neither using the premises, utilities, facilities nor all extra circular activities which are now closed for the entire semester thus reducing the school’s costs.
We also believe that Gems’ current offer of a Relief Fund package is unreasonable, and cannot be subjected to just a handful of families, as all parents’ across the board are effected.
Over the course of last few weeks, we have seen businesses and companies suffer, families across the city taking the brunt of this situation- most employees are being laid off, forced to take unpaid leave or are facing up to 30% pay cuts. Most Businesses are struggling and commercial

Our contract with the school came with a premis of value and learning outcomes that we honestly feel our children are not benefitting from on the moment.
Perhaps there are cases where some parents feel their children are learning as much as they would in school - and that’s great! However what is clear is that most of us don’t feel that way.
Teachers and parents are trying their best in these unprecedented circumstances. And tuition reductions need NOT reflect in teacher salary reduction which the school is focused on.
GEMS Education is a clearly profitable business and there must be room to cut profit margins or absorb a hit for one quarter just like all other business globally have had to do. The benefit of education however is that it is probably the only sector that can guarantee customers in September!

Due to prevailing situation we need discount on school fee.I have 3 kids studying in CIS,lost the job in 2019 March ,could not able to join any firm,working without salary

Gems should really reconsider their stance on this issue before parents start looking for other school for their kids due to this .
