The prevailing global situation resulting from the ongoing pandemic has disrupted our lives dramatically and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight, at least till June 2020.
As parents living and working in Dubai, we are concerned and worried. Some of us have already received letters from our employers notifying us of the possibility of either a reduction in salary, and in some cases a possibility of delay in the payment of salary. I personally run a real estate agency and not only has there been a total cessation of any new inquiries and leads, money we are owed from debtors is now delayed indefinitely.
While many Western countries have the benefit of turning to the state for assistance on wages and public services, we here simply do not have that luxury and as such have to allocate our remaining savings into caring for our families till this crisis has passed.
We understand that GEMS has many people to look after and we certainly empathize. However, with the current situation, the schools overheads have been drastically reduced and rents / finance payments frozen or deferred to a time when business operations are back to normal. Further, we send our children to these schools to utilize the many amenities the school provides and the primary goal for our kids at this age is face-to-face interaction with their educators and peers, which no amount of e-learning can compensate for.
In the midst of this uncertainty, it is not possible for parents to pay full tuition. We feel that the school should substantially reduce school fees for the duration in which e-learning is being conducted. It is only fair.
I’ll be grateful if you could favourably consider our request.

Agree with the Petition, distant learning for young children isn't not the same as being in school and we need to adjust as the service we are receiving is not the same as what we are charged for. 40% is the minimum they should offer

I have 2 kids in the Gems school.it’s more than 10 years .This situation is very bad for me and my kids.speacially because my husband went to business trip and after that couldn’t back to Dubai.
There is so many problems for my country.so he can not send money also..I don’t know in this situation what happene for his job.
We are under so much pressure.
That’s why please you understand my issue and help us for pass this problem . Thank you so much

Wellington International School did not give us any discount for learning at home . We feel that their management is not reasonable and would like the authority to advise them

Hello, I have two kids one at year 2 and other FS2.
I have to study for both of them at the same time , to hear the teachers' instructions at the same time and to understand their materials and help them. I barely find any time for my home to do any other tasks . This is not fair we are now doing the hard job and teachers are only preparing Powerpoints leaving us the rest.
I paid Semester 3 for both of them and now I need at least a half refund for each of them.
