I request for reduction in the fees, due to the uncertainity of jobs, reduced services from the school, increase in cost of living.

GEMS should waive off the complete fees for third term. Would be good gesture towards the parents and helping them to sustain during these difficult times.

Dear Management,
Its with great expectation I put my points for your persual. I work an organization supporting the technology vertical of hotels. The recent pandemic has brought our business to a stand still and we are greatly affected now. In fact we have not recived my full salary of February 2020 and not sure of the coming months.

Distance learning isn’t the same as traditional education at school. It is unethical to make us pay same fees for such poor quality of material which requires minimum of 5-7 hrs input per child!

Parents are spending hours to help our kids get E learning tasks done . It’s not fair to pay full fees for half of the service

I agree that the teaching has been passed on to parents completely; atleast in case of kindergarten students who are fully dependant on parents to take them through each and every activity and lesson plan. As such it is unjust to charge full term fees and GEMS being the institution it is; should lead the way.

The simple request is to receive a blanket rebate for all parents considering that the product that we bought into - is not what we are receiving. The schools overhead costs are considerably less at this time and the same cost-savings should be shared with the parents. It’s a very difficult time for everyone. If KHDA is mandating that a child who is homeschooled for term 3 will need to repeat a year, then they need to intervene and give families some relief as well. In normal circumstances, a child writes a test to prove his/her ability to enter the next grade - but KHDA is forcing parents to pay term fees without forcing the schools to provide fair relief. Schools do not have the right to request financial status to validate relief requests. Simply because the school is Not providing the product the parents were to receive. A fair rebate is necessary and called for.

Parents are also trying to work with reduced salaries and also providing schooling to their children, at the same time.
I believe the educational costs for term 3 should be reconsidered, due to the level it is being taught. (Not the teachers fault) but everyone is going through a tough time adjusting.

My son is in year 12, we have already payed for exams that are not going to happen... we have emailed the school but have had no response. I have been put on no pay until further notice so would be grateful for a reduction in term 3 fees.

My kids are studying in gems school. We expect some deduction of school fees as we r spending our time with my kids fully in their elearning and since they r not using the school facilities fully the can reduce the school fee. Also my little one is just kg, also we have to pay fully even for him. Please atleast 30 per cent they should reduce.
