Many mothers have left their jobs to help their child with e learning. We all are effected with thks virus. We request gems to give us 30 percent discount on 3rd semester fee.

Dear Gems Management,
This is a request for reduction of school fees (GMA)by a minimum 30%,
In these unpredictable situations, the month of April will bring many unpleasant news to us parents from our offices.
The e-learning platform tough being worked upon so much by teachers is not the most important thing at this moment of time. Rather life skills and lessons of survival have become the immediate necessity.
We Mothers are facing even more responsibilities of monitoring and guiding the children through e-learning. As much as teachers and school is taking pains to teach our kids so also mommies are being worked up to maintain the mood & conduct of kids . please Consider the addition cost of resources, gadgets , electricity consumption etc.
So in these times, a reduction in fees is highly justified at the earliest.

The school investors should also bear responsibility for covering teacher and stuff salaries, not only the parents of students. You are saving on variable costs (utilities), you are saving on depreciation of your assets (ok, non-cash expenses, but nevertheless and improvement to your profit), PD training for your teachers etc. what happened to all the previous years’ profits? Did you retain them in the company or distribute everything to investors? Why should parents be responsible to guarantee returns to investors?? Online education is non-existent, life classes are a joke. My kid studies by herself and spends even more hours doing schoolwork than having school and homework.

Yes, we are grateful for all the effort the leadership, teachers and non-teaching staff have put implementing a Distance Learning program on such short notice. But please remember that parents have also had to rise up to the challenges at home. For example, we need to assume the role of a teacher and invest time to go through PPT lessons and activities for Year 1 students. There is little or no live interaction from the year 1 learning managers. This is home schooling and not what we’ve signed up for. The fee must be reduced because distance learning differs a lot from classroom learning, it’s simple and logical to understand!

Dear Sir,
We have been sending our kids to GEMS school from Yr 1 to now, ie, 2 kids over the last 10+ years. I believe the current circumstances warrants that GEMS provide support to the community, ie, parents of the kids that have been supporting GEMS. I strongly believe that a partial refund of the fees is highly commendable and justified. I need not say more as we know the reality today. Your support is highly appreciated.

The teaching has been passed on to parents completely; especially in case of kindergarten students who are fully dependant on parents on each and every activity and lesson plan. Parents are fully involved for 5 to 6 hours to teach the kids and download excessive material with an additional printing cost now. In given scenario school must consider discount on term 3 fee.

If the company - as I can’t call it an educational institute since the principal signs as CEO- is loss making for the last 5 years then their action could somehow be justified - Can GEMS let us have their audited financials or officially state their Profit and Loss for the last 5 years.
