To ban kava is to ban years & years of culture & traditions & customs. If you ban kava then you should ban alcohol. The effects kava has on a person is calmness in comparison to the effects of alcohol it causes endangerment & regret, you do the Maths Government officials who are not looking at what damage it may 'cause to the original traditional owners/people who use KAVA as part of our ceremonial & traditional & customary procedures compared to those who use it in a way to hurt themselves or others, people should be taught to use KAVA, just like they have workshops for people of alcohol abuse the same goes for KAVA, BUT it's not the Kava its the people & persons who spoil it for the majority.

increase the penalties for trafficking kava to dry communities (deportation, 15-20yrs jail etc) No one dies from kava yet thousands have been killed by drunk drivers and alcohol related illnesses. What is acceptable in the Australian governments eyes then?
