2 runs = double the opportunity and enjoyment. Please don't prevent GB kids from skiing more.

This is a good idea given the cost and effort needed to race.

As an ex racer I think this is ridiculous and should be changed.

Yes I totally agree. By all means use both races for the competition result, but still allow the children to race in both races and record a time. It cannot help anyone not to do this. Providing 2 runs in race conditions can only assist development and will please athletes, coaches and parents (and provide better value)

This makes perfect sense and as a race organiser we already do this at our races.

No Brainer. Let them race. Send them last so they don't cut up the course for others; but they deserve the right to slide. Parents may have spent 1000's to get them to the event and what harm will it do?

We need to be encouraging kids and, as importantly, parents.

Make every race day worth while, encourage don't punish

Give the young racers maximum opportunity to experience race conditions.

Totally agree. It's hard enough to get kids into competition. Need to build them not destroy them. Which this ruling does for U16 s

I concur. It's a long long road to success.

Easy to implement and silly not to, particularly given the associated costs for parents.

Full support. There are to few races in the season to begin with.....the kids need as much race time as possible.

Absolute common sense. It is a huge cost to get to the races round Europe and depriving the kids of the experience of a second run when they already have such limited race time is madness.

I remember this rule change being put in place in an attempt to make the transition form children's racing to FIS racing an easier one, as the fall out from children's to FIS was considerable. From where I am sitting, the fall out is still as big. Clearly in this respect, the change in the rule has not worked, I think, therefore, the rule should be as it was, ie the same as the U14's...after all, kids racing is supposed to be fun, no??

The French do not apply this rule, they award points for each run and overall position, the best 2 are then added together as the "championship" points, much fairer! They do not seed U14/U16 racers either, it's the luck of the draw, a great way to learn to ski the ruts and that's what you need in the early years of FIS!
