What if I told you that one day we may not be able to enjoy the nice snappers, or lobsters, or conch that we find in abundance today
We the members of the Grand Bahama Committee for Concerned Residents are petitioning the government to stop the expansion of Bahama Rock west of the Warren J. Levarity Highway. Many issues and concerns of residents on Grand Bahama have arisen in the past few years that are having a negative affect on our Island.
We must come together and take a positive stand that will not only benefit us, but our children and our children\'s children. We know that You and I are the only ones that stand between foreign investors destroying our priceless natural resources (e.g.fresh water lakes , mangroves and pine forests which help sustain us and our marine life) to make a profit and leave the island in distress when they are done. Please stand with us in this fight to conserve our home and preserve our wildlife!

The growth of this petition reached a threshold that changes how we approach local officials. We are finalizing our formal request for a meeting with the Minister to present these documented concerns directly.

Please think about the future. Once the pine forest is gone it is gone forever. This is our home not their mining pit.

The mangroves are already suffering and you can tell. STOP the expansion now before there is nothing left for our kids to see.
