Myra has been released and is finally home. I am truly grateful for the thousands of people who saw the injustice in her treatment and chose to take a stand. We remain vigilant to ensure that these practices are rectified and do not happen to anyone else.

My friend Myra R. Was actively and voluntarily attending outpatient therapy, There was another member of this Therapy Group who falsely reported that Myra was going to commit suicide. Based on this lie she was taken out from group forcefully by the Paramedics and threatened to be taken by the Sheriff if she didn't go with them. This hospital happens to be Heritage Oaks in Sacramento which runs the outpatient therapy group. When Myra requested an outside Psychiatrist, she was denied this request. She has also had her anxiety medication withheld, and used as a ruse to extend her stay and placing her on a 5250. She is the only openly GAY Military member of the group and we feel she was directly targeted because of her sexuality. Please help us get justice for Myra by signing this petition!!

This is wrong. I can't believe it's happening in CA. But anyway, stay strong and this bs needs to stop.
This is completely out of control. Since when can some random person just make up a lie and have someone locked up? Myra deserves better than this treatment. Release her now!
This is disgusting on many levels. This needs to go viral so people know the truth. How can a medical facility and sherif IMPRISON her based off a FALSE allegation? Where's the truth? It seems to me they don't care if it was truth or not since they're not taking the time to diagnose the situation. This doesn't seem right. Stay strong Myra!
Nobody should be forced to do something... Thats very sad...and i hope this gets fixed
She shouldn't have been put into a hospital over someone else's word unless there is proof.

As someone who has been in this position, this is a truly horrific and mentally damaging experience. Holding her against her will only makes things worse, and the methods used by incompassionate and careless psych wards can result in cptsd.
