Georgia HB 156 - Aquatic Plant Control Act: Petition to repeal, amendment, and new sections are necessary to establish special provisions for the culture and sale of water spinach. Special Provisions--Water Spinach, establishes provisions unique to the issuance of exotic species permits for the culture of water spinach “People grow water spinach because it is very demanding in the Asian market, not just for Cambodians or Laotians or Vietnamese. It’s Chinese, Filipino, and all different Asian cultures that eat it, “Ong choy”, “Pak Bong”, “Rau Muong”, “kangkong”,” kolmishak”,” trokuon” Water spinach growing on wet soil, is a low-risk exotic species with little potential to harm the ecosystem with proper regulations.

Stir-fried water spinach is delicious. Water spinach is nutritious as well. It could definitely serves as another type of green vegetables to the table. Please make it possible for the supermarket to sell it.

Water Spinach can be grow on wet soil, in a control environment licensed by the State would not cause harm and create jobs for farmers, bring revenues to our states. Many states including Florida allow the sale and transport of water spinach
