Hello,
I don't live in Fuquay, but I would be more than happy to testify to the benefits of backyard chickens in front of the town council. After Holly Springs enacted such stringent regulations, I want to help Fuquay residents get a better deal. For me, it's about humanely sourced eggs and just the joy of having several of these entertaining birds (I have six). I live in Hillsborough. Thanks, and good luck!

We have been wanting chickens since we bought our first home here in Fuquay city limits! We think they would be wonderful with our young children. Oh, and they are quiet! Much quieter than most dogs. Please consider allowing them for those of us who would take good care of them and still be considerate of our neighbors.

Chickens are part of a sustainable culture and food source. There is no good argument as to why a family should not be able to raise their own hens and provide fresh, chemical free eggs of their own!

I currently have chickens on a legal area...however, I would love to have my chickens on my land we are looking at 1.75acres and its zoned R15 crazy can't have them there. My chickens are only as dirty as I allow them to be. they eat ticks, eat bad bugs, add wonderful nutrients to the ground and provide me a resource of protein like no other. LOW maintenance, resourceful and education for my children. sadly kids think chickens come from the grocery store rather than a chicken. my small flock of 5 or 6 hens depending whos not broody provide me with more than enough eggs to eat...IF CARY does it so should Fuquay. I ve been here long enough and I get tired of Fuquay acting like cary....so if you want to be like cary let us have chickens

I want considering purchasing a home here and raising a small flock of 4-6 birds. If this does not pass I will have to reconsider my purchase

As a future resident of Fuquay-Varina, I am most concerned about the restriction from having backyard chickens. Chickens can be a very clean, beneficial addition to any home, yard and neighborhood. Rather than restricting them, please instead make stipulations on how they are kept and housed. Done right, chicken coops can be an attrative addition to any landscape.

We are buying a house next week in fv and am very disappointed to see we are not aloud to have chickens. This was a large reason why we purchased a house with over an acre of land. I hope this changes in the near future.
