Dear Governor Raimondo and the Education Funding Formula Working Group,

As alum of The Metropolitan Regional Career and Technical Center (The Met), we, the undersigned, are concerned about the financial challenges the Met is facing, and want you to know how important the Met is to us, our families, and to the community.

The Met is an innovative public career and technical school, which offers integrated academic and work skills programming. With high standards and strong family engagement, The Met’s individualized learning approach has proven successful in unlocking students’ passion for learning.

However, The Met faces many challenges and needs your support. As a state-operated career and technical school, The Met relies on sufficient funding from the state to support the unique needs of the innovative programs and its students.

The Met changed me for the better and I continue to follow my passion as a solid citizen of this community. We invite you to visit The Met to see the great work being done to prepare students for post-secondary schooling and careers. We want to be sure the Met stays strong for future generations of Rhode Islanders!
