The future of our children should not be expendable. These programs are an investment in the future of our community and unthinkable to cut.

Leave the extracurricular activities alone and find other items to cut.

Colleges offer scholarships and accept applicants because of their well rounded education- academics, leadership activities, sports, clubs, arts and music! Many families have the ability to choose another school district or education plan that can involve these opportunities as their First Choice! By choosing an education program different than WASD, it could cost the district financially tremendously(esp if we bus our kids elsewhere) not to mention the long term affect it will have on our Waynesboro community.

I am a graduate of WASD, and the extracurricular activities I was a part of made me the person I am today. My daughter is going into first grade, and I can’t fathom a world where she would not have the same opportunities as I did. Please don’t rob her of that. I am willing to pay my fair share to save her opportunities, and I know the majority of fellow WASD parents feel the same way!!

Extra Curricular events and sports keep teens and kids active in school and help us get through it. Being an athlete I realize my grades go up when I’m in a season because I HAVE to keep my grades up in order to play.

I play 3 sports... soccer, basketball, and baseball and they are my life. I have been playing all three for 13 years. This would cut every positivity experience in high school short. I want a senior night because I have worked so hard in those 13 years.
