As the grandmother of two of your students I have been impressed with the teachers and staff. It does however seem like there could be issues with the portables. The overcrowding is evident and should be addressed.

I’m a parent of a 1st grader, and a 3 year old who will start Kindergarten in Fall 2019. Area 1 School is needed NOW, and the following Moore Cty schools construction and improvements need to stay on track as well. Please.

If public schools don’t keep up with the growing needs, we will continue to lose more kids to charter schools and other educating options.

I am very concerned about the class sizes as well as the conditions. I have a granddaughter that will be attending next fall.

Our grandchildren attend this school and the overcrowding affects the quality of their and all children who attend the school. According to the US Dept. of Education: A study of overcrowded schools in New York City found that students in such schools scored significantly lower on both mathematics and reading exams than did similar students…In addition, when asked, students and teachers in overcrowded schools agreed that overcrowding negatively affected both classroom activities and instructional techniques.

Our grandson attends this school. It's stunningly overcrowded which negatively impacts the quality of education he receives.

The best way to prevent crime is to invest in education. Yet in Moore County, we invest in correctional facilities and courthouses not children. Our schools are unsafe, outdated, and should have been replaced decades ago. It is time for our leaders to support education and put children first.

In light of events in Sandy Hook Elem we need more modern designs for our schools. The current designs, as well as use of mobile units due to overcrowding, is an unsafe situation. Furthermore, the mold and mildew problems at several schools (SPP and APS) are leaving MCS vulnerable to litigation as employees’ and students’ Health is negatively affected.

It is not fair for these children to endure these hardships.
