There are good kids here....there are good teachers here. I live this school district and I CHOOSE to send my kids here! We owe it to our kids and our community to do better!

I am.going to start by saying that education is a priviledge but in our community it is a neccesity for our youth. Our community has been stricken by tragedy, trauma and decline. The lack of funding that is being provided to our public schools is a mockery. The children deserve to be educated, & by educated i mean they have a right to be provided text books that they do not have to share if they even receive one at all. They have a right to be taught how to learn, not what they will be tested on, but actually taught how to learn so they never have to depend on what is being told to them because they will have a desire to push themselves to try every possible option until they find the right solution. They have a right to a future. I do not agree thay closing schools is the appropriate solution for many different reasons. The first being that the couty schools they will bussed to are not designed to house hundreds more children than they already have. The extra hours being spent on the bus getting to and from school will cut down on the amount of time they have to spend on homework & sports. Last but certainly not least our future generations are rising in numbers faster then we can keep up with causing a bigger influx of future students that will require more classrooms. Sports and the arts are the only way out of poverty for a lot of our youth & by the funding not being available for these extra activities we are basically shutting the door to the only future that a lot of them will have. How many people that are involved in passing the budget would feel confident with their nay vote if their children or grandchildren were in attendance in OUR public school system? None i am sure
