The fact that my child is not given the same educational opportunities and resources as neighboring districts because of a lack of fair funding is appalling. The arts, extracurricular activities, access to school counselors, and even the chance to attend high school in the district in which she lives should not be optional because of a lack of state approved funds. FAIR FUNDING NEEDS TO HAPPEN NOW! My daughter can't wait several years for it. She only gets one shot at a quality education.

We need fair educational funding for our students who already face so many personal challenges in their home lives. School is to be their "safe place" but the proposed cuts in staffing and programs will fall short in providing that environment.

I am deeply disappointed in how Harrisburgh is handling the budget deficit. It's wrong that the lack of funding is ultimately hurting our students. It's a shame that other school districts such as Pittsburgh received an extra $57 million more than they required and Philadelphia received billions of dollars. It's unlawful and unjust of the state to give extra money to other districts when they've admitted to underfunding Erie. This injustice has to stop. Our students deserve the better than this.

I live in Millcreek but send my children to the best highschool in Erie, NWPA Collegiate Academy! The state needs fair funding for Erie's public schools!!!

Just like I tell my students in class… Fair doesn't mean that everyone gets the same thing… Fair means that everybody gets what they need to be successful . Right now the EPS does not have enough significant funds in order to be successful . Our students deserve better .
