Why do we pay school taxes? Perhaps it's time to start electing people who will get the job done and get rid of the politicians who are there wasting our tax dollars. Erie has a higher school tax rate than other cities, but we get the short end of the stick. It's time to stand up and do something about it. #saveerieschools

My students deserve to have the same education as other 3rd graders across the state! Our textbooks shouldn't be out dated or have curriculum copied onto paper. Every child deserves to have art, music and physical education EVERY week and not every 6 days. The students deserve to have extra curricular activities and feel proud to represent their school in uniforms that are equivalent to other districts. They certainly deserve to not only have a counselor, but a mental health specialist to assist in all of the needs our students have! We have lost so much. How much more can the students, faculty and staff take? My students are the future doctors. Lawyers, teachers. We should be providing them with all the necessary tools for EVERY student to be successful. If funding was fair, we could help more students meet their potential! Our students deserve the best!

I am a PROUD product of ESD. If it were not for caring teachers, a sound education and after school activities and sports, I would not be where I am today. Although I no longer live in Erie, it troubles me deeply to learn of the state's inequity with respect to educational funding.

Please don't punish our youth and plunge them further into poverty by robbing them of a good solid foundation through school. It's hard enough to get through high school as it stands without forcing kids to go outside of their districts just to get a high school education. Plus, we all know the crime rate and gun violence will increase if schools close.

This injustice has gone on far too long. It's time to stop overfunding the districts with a reasonable or high tax base and support this community with only a fraction of the city paying property taxes.

we need education without it were nothing as a whole but with it we can become something individually and we need our sports and extracurricular activities and art music and other classes because some of us feel that one of those subjects are our life that's why we come to school so we can enjoy that part of the day and clear our minds from stressful things in life but if they cut it then what will we be doing then nothing we won't be able to have time to do the things we love because the lack of funding for the schools so if you ask me I feel that we outta do something we need to rally to Harrisburg and handle this matter in our own hands we can't just keep waiting on them something needs to get done so now let's take a stand and get ready and go rally down to Harrisburg so we can get what we need so we can have the education and keep doing what we love and what we come to school for because we just don't go to school for nothing it's because we want to be something in life and without the education we won't be something we will be nothing so let's go and take care of this matter the best we can as a whole the whole Erie population and whoever else wants to support let's get the budget passed as a whole so we can become something as one when we soar in the future
