To the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors We, the concerned parents, teachers, school employees and citizens of Fluvanna County, urge you to commit the revenue necessary in order for the FY 2012 budget of the Fluvanna County Public Schools to be fully funded. The Fluvanna County Public Schools has just had to incur a $4.5 million loss in funding for fiscal year 2011. This loss in funding has already had a negative effect on our children’s education. Now faced with another $1 million shortfall, the school board will have no choice but to look at eliminating programs and positions that are essential to providing a quality education for the most important resource this county will ever have – OUR CHILDREN. An excellent education is essential to our children’s futures. Their success in turn is essential to the well-being of our county, our state and our nation. Our students cannot afford to wait until the economy recovers to receive an excellent education; now more than ever we need to be providing them with the tools to survive in current economic times as well as in the future.
