Hingham's full day kdg is tuition based. I agree we need full day Kdg in Norwell and it should be available to everyone but my taxes are currently too high with very few town services so I will not support an increase in taxes

As a parent of two children who will be entering the public schools of Norwell within a few years, I am disappointed and so very surprised that our schools do not offer this. I do hope this will be addressed and changed very soon.

There is no way that kids in half day learn the same as kids in full day. You can't cram 6 hours of school into 3.5 hours. If that is possible, then all grades should be half day!

We need this to pass enough is enough it's about the well being of our children. I'm sorry if our special educators are inconvenienced because they will have to drive to 3 schools instead of 2, but that's not a good enough excuse to neglect our children's learning.

All children in town should have the opportunity for full day Kindergarten. A lottery is not the way to decide who gets full day vs 1/2 day. Time for us to change this policy.

I agree that a town of Norwell's academic reputation should be a leader in the full day kindergarten cirriculum shift, not a late adopter. Certainly towns with far lower tax rates have found the means to provide this valuable service to their youngest students, I would expect our town should have the means to follow suit.

My children were fortunate to have been enrolled in full day Kindergarten. I support that all Kindergarten classrooms in Norwell be Full Day with zero tuition. Find the classrooms, hire the teachers and make it happen Norwell!! Our families need this opportunity that is available across Massachusetts.

If we don't have full day kindergarten, and we can't provide proper sidewalks, and we have to pay for specific trash bags, what are our extremely high taxes paying for?

As a family with two working parents, and kids that have been in daycare since they were babies, I can't imagine sending my child to Kindergarten and having it not be a full day program. Never mind the logistics, it would be such a disservice to him to not have him in a full day program. I love this town and love bringing my kids up in this amazing community. This is an area that needs attention and action however, so I greatly appreciate any effort that is being made to remedy this situation!

If classroom space is the biggest obstacle then let's create more space. If adding on to a current school is too costly then why not add a few modular portable classrooms. This would be quick fix and all kindergarten kids could have full day in 2017 while a more long term solution for space is addressed.
There is no need to continue to kick the kindergarten can down the road.

Having just moved back from Brookline where space is at a true premium but full day kindergarten is the only public option, I went into it highly skeptical but soon saw the benefits of full day in my oldest. I was hopeful that Norwell would have had a more certain full-day option by the time my second begins Kindergarten next fall. To address the space issue, the school my daughter attended used two modular classrooms that were painted to blend with the exterior of the school. I walked through the modular space different mornings year round, and they were comfortable and appropriate for the learning environment. I propose the district look into modulars if space is a barrier.
