This facility is long over due in Calgary. It's almost embarrassing that the city does not have a facility like this.

Calgary can't call itself a world-class city without a world-class facility for soccer, tennis etc. And bring the Stampeders indoors too.

This would be great. Hopefully they can put in an area for indoor javelin training :)

I'm not sure about using so much space for a track, but a big indoor turf field is sorely needed. Moose Jaw has a better facility than anywhere in Alberta.

We desparately need this for all age levels to keep ourselves active all year long. It is difficult to get off the couch in the Spring because of a long winter and then being hit with another outburst of winter. It would keep everyone motivated all year long and reduce start up injuries when you try to get back in shape at the point where you left off in the Fall. It would reduce training injuries, thus decrease hospital visits. It makes financial sense all round with a healthier population able to be active all year round.

My kids are involved in track and field. Every year we drive to Edmonton for provincials because Calgary could never host such an event. The Indoor tracks at YYC are terrible and put our kids at risk of injury.

We run a GREAT basketball program in the NW but we turn kids away due to lack of gym space!
