FromeFM is a community broadcaster
It serves Frome in Somerset and nearby villages. It has been broadcasting 24/7 on the internet for nearly 2 years and is staffed by over 80 volunteers who make programmes and help behind the scenes day in and day out.
OfCom regulates licences for the government. They are considering offering more 5 year FM radio licences for community stations and FromeFM want to take this opportunity. An FM licence will enable FromeFM to make it's wide range of programmes available to the widest range of listeners. OfCom ask for candidate stations to demonstrate that they have community support.

The steady growth of this petition shows how much our community values local radio. Reaching two hundred and fifty signatures will provide a strong foundation when we present our case to OfCom. Please encourage others to add their names so we can demonstrate the full scale of our local support.

The number of people who have spoken up for a local FM presence shows how much this station already means to the town. I have spent the last few days formalizing our evidence for the regulators to show that our community is ready for this next step.

Reaching our first one hundred signatures will provide a clear indication to OfCom that our town values this service. Please look for one neighbor who would appreciate our local broadcasts and ask them to add their name to our effort before we reach this milestone.

so much better than the rubbish on national radio. keep up the good work guys hope you get the fm signal soon!!!!
FromeFM is the heart of our town. About time we got a proper frequency for it!
Love this station. Internet is fine but having it on the car radio would be way better.
YES PLEASE. I want to listen in the kitchen and the car without messing with my phone data all the time.
Great volunteers putting in so much work. They deserve to be heard by everyone in the community.

Give them the licence! Too many generic stations on FM anyway. We need something local.
