Almost all campuses around the U.S. don't allow freshmen to have cars on campus. This should be changed because of the many reasons a car is necessary. Freshmen who have jobs need to be able to drive to work, and that makes it hard when you don't have a vehicle with you. The first year of college is always the toughest. The transition and adjustment is very stressful and usually makes you miss your family more. But how are you going to get home if you don't have a car to allow you to do that. The final reason why freshmen should have cars on campus is in case of emergencies. If something goes wrong and they need to get to the hospital fast, there is no way to get immediate access without a car.
