We, the concerned citizens and tax-payers of the Carmel Central School District, are sending this petition to ask that you, our elected representatives responsible for ensuring a strong public education system in Carmel, ask for a wage freeze from every employee in the school district including the Superintendent, Dr. James Ryan. We ask that you restore all sports including Modified sports, restore all extracurricular clubs, restore the Alternative High School, restore art, music, business, technology, science and foreign language, restore field trips and restore the School Resource Officers. Additionally, we ask there be no budget proposal which includes overriding the 2% tax cap. By imposing a district wide salary freeze, these cutbacks can be reversed in whole.
