The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Pretoria requests all students and the community at large to rally behind the call to #FreeUP24.

On the 19th of Feb, the 24 students were arrested for demonstrating dissatisfaction at the slow pace of transformation at the University of Pretoria; their only crime was the just fight for an environment that is open for all.

With the University's commitment to social cohesion, the SRC calls on the VC of the University of Pretoria, Prof Cheryl de la Rey, to rally behind this call and furthermore to join us in court on the 19th of July when the 24 are expected to appear again. In so doing, we urge the University management to exhaust all its resources to assist the 24 students whom we have not forgotten.
