I never had this Thorson as a teacher. I heard he was well liked. Has any of the idiots enforcing this ever actually been into a classroom with kids? Sure, they can watch bloody murder all day on fox, but god forbid they start swearing. Idiots.

10 years ago I had Thorson as a teacher. He was a great teacher then, and I can imagine that he hasn't changed much since.

One of the best teachers I had at Mayo. This is absolutely punishment ridiculous. When a student can swear in class, even at a teacher, and have to consequences on one hand. On the other a teacher understandably frustrated swears and is suspended. It just doesn't make sense.

Had him as my English teacher more than 10 years ago. I don't remember many teachers, but he was great. If teachers who may curse on occasion are forced out, shouldn't students be forced to leave for similar infractions?

while I do not think that cursing in the classroom is generally acceptable, this man has not aimed his comments at anyone directly. AND he has made speech fun for the students - what a challenge!

I may of not know Mr. Thorson personally, but I was a student all four years at Mayo High School and I believe we all make mistakes. Trust me, I wouldn't still be in the Air Force if mistakes were allowed.

Suspending him is f'n ridiculous! Every kid, especially high school aga, probably hears that word used several times a day! Some from their own parents!

I think it is sad that just last year a paraprofessional can phyiscally abuse an autistic child and gets a different position working in the school district. But, a teacher who is obviously well liked slips and says a word that is heard everyday and gets suspended. I think Rochester Public Schools need to figure out their priorites!

This tends to be alcable, kids swear a lot now a days. Saying the f word will cause attention. I think if he wants to teach he should be able to.
