I have been reading through the messages from people frustrated because they cannot get the custom URL they have wanted for years. It is clear that so many of us are tired of seeing these digital graveyards sitting empty while we wait for a chance to claim them.

Seeing this gain so much traction proves I am not the only person frustrated by these abandoned usernames taking up space. It feels validating to know so many of you share the same hope for a cleaner platform.

it is so annoying trying to find a vanity url and seeing it taken by a blog that posted once in 2011 and never logged in again. clean them out already.
